Fortnite is back on iPhone via the Epic Store in Europe!
Fortnite is back on iPhones in Europe
Since it was an Epic vs Apple affair, there were several ways to play Fortnite on iPhones, through GeForce Now, or even through Xbox Cloud Gaming (which offers players this exclusive title without requiring a subscription). Obviously, these solutions were just a stopgap and Epic would love to be able to offer its game without going through a third-party solution. With European iPhones and iPads opening up to alternative stores, the company will finally have an official way to distribute its flagship game by offering the Epic Store..
Epic Store on European iPhones
Epic officially announced it via a release on X, The Epic Store is expected to debut on iOS in Europe this year. This alternative store powered by Epic will therefore offer certain games, including, apparently, the very attractive Fortnite. Be warned, however, that the likes of Apple want to keep control of the alternative stores offered on its platform, and so it could still put spokes in Epic’s wheels, for one reason or another.
This is just the beginning!
Epic shouldn’t be the only company to embark on this venture, and We will soon have to install numerous applications as many portals allow you to use programs from different publishersLike many launchers that must be installed on PC (and to a lesser extent on Mac), such as Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox app, GoG Galaxy, Battle.net from Blizzard or again Ubisoft Connect. The presence of alternative stores will please some and annoy/intimidate others (Next in line, those who appreciated the simplicity of having a single store), But at least they can play Fortnite on their iPhones (What a funny idea ^^).
