Fans are clamoring for a Ray Liotta tribute, that’s for sure!
2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is one of the most beloved entries in Rockstar Games’ popular game series, and at the center of its story was Tommy Vercetti, played by the late Ray Liotta.
Born on December 18, 1954 in New Jersey, United States, Ray Liotta starred in the brilliant 1990 film Goodfellas, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Liotta is also known to many for his starring role in GTA: Vice City.
“How would you like Rockstar Games to reference Tommy Vercetti in GTA VI,” Redditor dlovan666 asked to start the discussion on the thread, and other users shared how they thought the actor should be honored.
“They’ll probably name a nice place like Ray Beach and Lake Leotana, like O’Craig Run (Red Dead Redemption 2),” Plastic Bluepalm said. “Lake Leota looks a lot better than Lake Leonida,” answered Bananaramammoth.
“Versetti Island or a bar called Tommy Place. Maybe a movie featuring Goodfellas or a feature on Tommy’s exploits from Vice City,” suggested Lopsided_Register_90. “Keep the Versatti Estate with the White Infernus Classic in the garage and the estate grown around it,” suggested BeauCaliente00.
I’d be shocked if Rockstar Games didn’t already have some ideas in mind for how they could pay tribute to Ray Liotta in Grand Theft Auto VI, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. At the time of writing, a PC release has not been announced.
