Ukraine: $486 billion needed for recovery and reconstruction
Ukraine will need $486 billion for its recovery and reconstruction after two years of war caused by the Russian invasion, according to estimates published Thursday by the World Bank (WB), the UN, the European Union and the Ukrainian government. The previous valuation published in March 2023 was $411 billion.
Damage is concentrated in the regions of Donetsk (east), Kharkiv (northeast), Luhansk (east), Zaporizhia (south), Kherson (south), all near the current front line, and Kiev (north).

According to the World Bank, the estimated figure of 486 billion over 10 years is housing (17%), followed by transport (15%), commerce and industry (14%), agriculture (12%), energy. (10%), Social Security and Livelihood (9%) and Explosion Risk Management (7%).
