Swan destroys Sama Fanatic
Yesterday, the third and final week of the LEC Winter Split 2024 regular season took place. Sunday, January 28 was the second day of the week’s competitions, featuring ten teams in a showdown on Summoner’s Rift. Among the day’s matches, the match between G2 Esports and Fnatic grabbed the attention, symbolizing the European Classic and recalling the grand finale of the LEC Season Finals 2023, featuring two of the LEC’s most accomplished teams.
The match began under the sign of dominance from G2 Esports, who knew how to impose their rhythm from the lens stage. However, after about twelve minutes, the game was balanced with adequate distribution of resources between the two teams. In the 30th minute, the even distribution of gold did not prevent G2 Esports from showing decisive skill in crucial moments, which allowed them to take control of Nashor. Fnatic, on the other hand, maintained a solid defense for over ten minutes, until G2 took the lead by capturing Elder.
A decisive team fight then broke out near Nashor, where G2 Esports had the upper hand. G2 player Steven “Hans Sama” Liv came out with a remarkable performance, pulling off a spectacular pentacle. It was the second pentakill of the season in the LEC league (after Supa) and the third of the player’s long career. He finished the game with remarkable stats: a KDA of 10/3/12, a DPM of 1068, and participation in nearly 76% of his team’s eliminations, thus cementing his reputation as a key player in the LEC arena.
