Connection to Shadow of Erdtree?
A year ago, FromSoftware announced the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, on the game’s first anniversary, and players were very excited about it. However, the developer has been silent since this official announcement, and the DLC still doesn’t have a release date. There have been several rumors, background updates on Steam, and possible leaks suggesting that Shadow of the Erdtree could be available soon, possibly next month. The Alden Ring has received a new background update on Steam, leading us to believe that an official announcement on the DLC release is imminent.
The game already received a background update earlier this month, which was spotted by fans on data tracker SteamDB. The latest update still doesn’t mention the name of the DLC, but it has plenty of dates and times, fueling rumors and speculation about its release. Additionally, the video game retailer’s product page revealed a collaboration between gaming peripheral maker Thrustmaster and Bandai Namco for the Elden Ring-themed controllers, which were released alongside the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Although nothing is confirmed at the moment, fans are poring over every piece of artwork, and many theories are floating around about what the DLC will contain. Some believe that the mysterious character seen in the artwork is Mikaela, and speculate on a possible story that could develop in the expansion.
