Sherlin, who tried to commit suicide by jumping from an overpass to the train tracks that night, admitted that she had been planning to kill the boys and herself for the past two months due to her financial situation and several debts owed to her.
According to the arrest report, the woman said she spent the day driving and looking for bridges to jump until she decided on the I-95 overpass, where she parked her silver Toyota Highlander.
“The defendant admitted to thinking of jumping off the bridge with both victims or throwing them one by one and then jumping to end their lives,” the report quoted. NBC Miami.
On the morning of the crime, a tow truck driver who was passing the scene stopped to help him. The woman told her to call 911 because her children were unresponsive.
The man did, he also pulled the child out of the car and began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him. He then told the mother to do the same with the child, but the police approached and the woman jumped from the overpass.
According to the arrest report, police found twins Milanhet and Milanheter G. inside the car. Napoleon-Cadet was seen foaming at the mouth and nose.
“The defendant admitted that she walked away while both victims were foaming at the mouth, once she heard police sirens. The defendant then jumped off the bridge and landed on the ground to end his life,” the document details.
Shirley refused to give her children anything to cause them to foam at the mouth and pass out.
Her fall caused serious injuries and she remained hospitalized until this week.
He is currently in jail without bail.
