Hacker group Lulzsec X, earlier on Twitter and Telegram, claimed to have succeeded in hacking 600,000 Family Allowance Fund (CAF) accounts on Monday 12 February. The release shows four accounts as evidence, including the amount of the last payment, the date of their payment and other personal information.
The Family Allowance Fund responded this Tuesday, February 13, in a press release published on its website. CAF notes that “there is no security breach”. While it doesn’t confirm the compromise of 600,000 accounts, the services note that four accounts were actually compromised. “No action has been taken on these four accounts, especially for the purpose of availing the benefits of the concerned beneficiaries, it is not possible to reach the RIB”, the organization wants to reassure.
However, the organization advises its users to change their passwords, especially if they use them on other sites. The press release specifies that the caf.fr site will be completely unavailable from Tuesday February 13, 11:30 pm to Wednesday February 14, 6 after closing access to the “My Account” space during the night from Monday to Tuesday. h A report has been sent to the CNIL and a complaint will be filed.
