6 Nations 2024 – France v Scotland: Cameron Walkie in cage and Alexandre Roumet on bench: Blues’ likely line-up
Apart from the stints of Cameron Walkie and Louis Billet-Bire, the appearance of Alexandre Rumat in the French side should be the only big news for the France group at Murrayfield.
As he has become accustomed to since taking over in the winter of 2020, national coach Fabian Galthy has kept no secret surrounding his squad composition and, on Tuesday afternoon, we already gave you the first outline of the formation to face Scotland on Saturday. Yesterday, we were able to see in Markosis that compared to last weekend, only Paul Willemse (suspended for four weeks for a series of dangerous tackles) and Yoram Moifana (coach’s choice) will lose their starting seats in Scotland. On the left wing, it was Louis Bille-Bierre who trained with “Sara” West on Tuesday while Cameron Wokey returned to the cage alongside Paul Gabriellegs, dressed in the No. 5 tunic for the occasion, in place against Ireland. That being said, other new developments are expected on the match sheet and as such, Alexandre Roumet (26 years) and Sebastien Taofifenua (31 years, 4 caps) therefore played a lot with potential holders, on Wednesday afternoon. If, as we suspect, Rumat appears on the sidelines in Edinburgh, Stade Toulouse’s number 8, who has been excellent since the start of the season, will have a good chance of celebrating his first international selection in this second round of the tournament. Being able to rely on such a player would also make it possible to bolster the ailing French line-up against Ireland (17-38)…
