Hugo emerges from the akitic silence
A placard by Paris Saint-Germain since last summer, Hugo Ektic seemed to pay a high price for refusing a transfer at a time when Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham were courting him. Six months later, the 21-year-old French striker joined the German club. On loan to Eintracht with an option to buy, Ekitike replaces Randall Kolo Muani, another Frenchman at the forefront of Frankfurt’s attack.
However the former Ramois had an emotional day yesterday. Arriving in Germany in the afternoon, the Parisians prayed that both clubs would be successful in finalizing the deal, with the German transfer window closing its doors at 6pm. In the end, everything worked out and Ekitik can now finally hope to resume his career. “It was very stressful. I was waiting for the deal to happen. I am very excited and proud to be here. I’m excited to get started”He said in an interview with the official Eintracht media.
Ekitike wants to show
Also visited by Wolfsburg and Wolverhampton this winter, Ektik admitted he only wanted to sign for Eintracht. “Yes, it’s true. I just wanted Frankfurt. I was waiting to come. That’s why it was stressful for me. At this stage of my career it’s the right place, the right direction. That’s what I heard when I spoke to the coach. I really liked it. That’s why I chose this.”.
After a very complicated Parisian adventure (26 Ligue 1 matches, 3 goals), the Reims native now wants to prove that he is a top striker. Moreover, when introducing himself to the Frankfurt fans, Ekitike clearly put himself forward. “I’m a scorer, but I think I’m perfect. I can play in all forward positions. I hope to perform in front of the supporters”. Now go to the field!
