Farmers’ fury: Construction industry demands similar benefits and organizes snail-paced operations
After the anger of the farmers, here comes the construction industry. Snail operation is planned on Taran roads this Wednesday to demand similar benefits for non-road diesel.
This Wednesday, January 31, disruptions to the tarn road and motorway network due to auger operations are expected to last for the better part of the day.
The procession of trucks, the prefecture revealed, is organized by construction contractors who claim to enjoy the same benefits as farmers on non-road diesel (GNR). The professionals met at the sequester at 7 am. They will then turn onto the Albi ring road and take the A68 motorway towards Toulouse, all the way to Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe. They will then turn to Lavaur and Castres in the afternoon.
During his trip to Haute-Gironne on Friday, Gabriel Attal tried to respond to farmers’ anger by abandoning the gradual increase until 2030 in the tax on non-road agricultural diesel. Construction organizations that are now asking to take advantage of the same measures.
