When does wolf armor come out in minecraft?
With the announcement of the inclusion of armadillo and wolf armor in Minecraft, the excitement is off the charts. The addition of new mobs to the game opens up new ways to play and enjoy the sandbox title, and a new mini-update has something special for Steve and Alex’s best friend.
Instead of releasing a big update all at once, Mojang is taking a different route by releasing mini updates and adding bug fixes and quality of life improvements to the game. Update 1.20.5 is one such example, and while it’s a mini-update, it brings a lot of interesting things.

Wolf armor in Minecraft: what you should know
Mojang has not given a specific release date for the Wolf Armor or Armadillo update. A snapshot showing these additions, coded 23w51a, was released on December 18, 2023. Considering Mojang’s track record, we can expect an official mini-update in mid-2024. However, many expect the release to be around February or March 2024, as 1.20.05 is just a minor update with a few bug fixes.
Players have been asking for this feature for years, as tamed wolves tend to associate with hostile mobs and take damage. They wanted something like horse armor and are finally getting it. While the 1.21 update is still on the way, this addition has been welcome.
This armor would be made of armadillo scutes, and is believed to be very tough despite its simple appearance, providing protection similar to that of a diamond horse. It can only be tamed, and not a wild, wolf. Players must use scissors on the armored wolf to take it down. Armor has infinite durability; However, its final release may have different features.
How to make wolf armor
Wolf armor can be crafted. Since this feature is still experimental, Mojang may add new ways to get armor, perhaps in loot chests. Six armadillo scutes are required to make the armor.
Armadillo scutes can be obtained either by waiting for the armadillo to release the scute, which occurs in five to ten minutes. Players can also use brushes on them to get scoots. Armadillos can be raised by feeding them spider eyes. This neutral mob will flee if the player runs towards them or onto a mount. A rolled-up armadillo will not respond to spider eyes.
To craft the armor, players must use a crafting table and six armadillo scutes. Arrange the scutes in the shape of a small case ‘h’ to form an armour. This is the armor creation method, although it may change in the final release.
