This smartphone manufacturer will close shop
Do you know Kate and Motorola Daffy? Two smartphone brands were licensed by the Bullitt group. In the end, not everything goes as planned.
It’s the turn of a watch brand that cuts costs, then an electric bicycle manufacturer, now a smartphone manufacturer.
These are very bad times for the rear company Bullitt Group CAT and Motorola ignore rugged smartphones. They tried a big gamble by restructuring, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. The result? They consider themselves bankrupt.
In addition, many employees shared on LinkedIn that they were thanked, adding a human side to this already complex situation.
A rugged smartphone
Bullitt’s idea was to get rid of its smartphone arm, including licenses for CAT (Caterpillar) and Motorola Defy (and we’re not talking about Motorola, Lenovo’s brand here) to focus on a completely different area. Field: Satellite Connectivity Solutions.
Their latest flagship product, the CAT S75, was also a smartphone that allowed satellite communication without special equipment, a minor revolution.
Mediatech, their partner in the venture, helped put this in place. But even with this innovation, it wasn’t enough to keep the ship afloat.
