A Cuban woman recently lost her life in Mexico while pursuing her dream of reaching the United States.
Jennifer Tamayo Velázquez, a Cuban mother from Gibara municipality in Holguín province, left her girls behind, under her mother’s care, to give them a better future, but the death caught her by surprise. It achieved its objective.
“Today was a sad shock for me because I found out about your friend’s departure, I still can’t believe it. Yanni RIP friend, I took care of you in Tapachula when you got that flu and I can’t be by your side today because you called me ‘doctor’. I want to take with me the beautiful memories of that chubby, cheerful and very helpful blonde, today you are in heaven, I just hope God has you in his holy glory. I still can’t believe it, first Alicia left us and now my condolences to your Yeni, families and the little girls you left behind. “Dude, we will always carry you in our hearts,” the girl’s friend wrote.
On social networks, the family shared information asking for help with the cost of the funeral and repatriation of the Cuban woman’s remains.
Another young Cuban woman, just 26 years old, died trying to reach the United States in late December 2023.
Nuervis López Quinones was on a road trip through Mexico on her way to the country’s southern border when she was involved in a road accident.
