Taylor Swift donates $100,000 to Kansas City parade shooting victim’s family on GoFundMe
(CNN) — Taylor Swift made two $50,000 GoFundMe donations Wednesday to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the woman killed in the mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade.
Along with her donation totaling $100,000, Swift wrote, “I send you my deepest condolences and condolences following your devastating loss. Love, Taylor Swift.”
A rep for the singer confirmed Swift’s donation to CNN.
Who was Lisa Lopez Galvan?
Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a Kansas City-area radio DJ, died after being shot while celebrating the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory, her family confirmed in a statement Thursday.
“On behalf of the Lopez-Galvan family we thank the community for their prayers and support during this difficult time. We are so sorry for the loss of our family member, Elizabeth “Lisa”. We ask that you please keep our family in your prayers as we mourn the loss of Lisa’s death and at the same time support our other loved ones who were affected by this senseless act,” said Alberto Lopez, Lisa’s brother.
In a Facebook post, KKFI Radio 90.1 FM, the radio station where Lisa worked, also spoke out. “It is with great sadness and extremely heavy and broken hearts that we inform our community that KKFI DJ Lisa López-Galván, host of ‘Test of Tejano,’ lost her life in a shooting at the celebration.”
Lisa was one of our programmers/DJs at ‘Taste of Tejano’. Like all our employees, she was a volunteer who donated her time and talent to KKFI. Along with his co-producer/DJ Tommy Andrade, his show brought a voice to the Kansas City community that the mainstream media would miss,” Kelly Dougherty, the station’s director of development and communications, said in an email to CNN.
