Plane crash near Jamaica
Jamaican authorities are investigating the crash of a small plane in the southwest of the Caribbean country this Saturday, while a search for victims or survivors is underway, according to local media reports.
The only thing that is known is that the plane went down northwest of the territory of St. Elizabeth.
Photos and videos on social networks show the crashed ship completely destroyed and burnt.
At this time, authorities have not reported where the plane took off from or where it was headed.
It is also unknown if only the pilot was traveling or if there were passengers with him.

This is the latest small plane crash in the Caribbean, as four people died last Thursday when it crashed into the sea en route to the island of St Lucia, on the island of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
One of the victims of that accident was actor Christian Oliver, whose real name is Christian Klapster, along with his two daughters, aged 10 and 12, and the ship’s pilot.
Born in Germany but an American citizen, Oliver had an outstanding career spanning 15 years, starring in films such as ‘Speed Racer’, ‘The Good German’, ‘Valkyrie’ and ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial’. of Destiny’.
Oliver was heading to the island of St. Lucia with his daughters, Madita Klapser and Annick Klapser, ages 10 and 12, and pilot Robert Sachs.
The ship took off from James Mitchell Airport in Bequia – a territory of St. Vincent and the Grenadines – at around 12:00 a.m. – but crashed minutes later, exactly one nautical mile west of Petit Nevis.
