Isere. Escaping behind the wheel of a stolen Porsche, he crashes into a bus in Milan
After 4 pm this Saturday, January 13, an impressive traffic accident took place at the Caroneri crossroads in Milan, on the edge of the commune of La Tronchena.
Hit Lingarms first to escape
A man who was behind the wheel of a stolen car – in this case a Swiss-registered Porsche Cayenne – was chased by gendarmes from the Milan company near the town of Krols, where the fugitive rammed a military vehicle to escape them.
Fortunately no police officers were injured but the suspect managed to flee via the A41 motorway towards Grenoble.
Rushing to the Caronerie crossroads in Mellon, he then crashed violently into the back of a clear M’Tag bus which was traveling down Avenue de Verdun in the direction of Montbonot-Saint-Martin. Under the shock, the bus crashed into the side of a Renault Clio driving beside it.
The driver of the Porsche Cayenne then left the stolen vehicle in the middle of the road and fled.
Four passengers injured
After a chase of several hundred meters he was caught by Linarms and arrested.
He is in police custody.
Four passengers of the bus sustained minor injuries in the accident. All were treated by firefighters and taken to Grenoble Alpes University Hospital. The bus driver and the driver of the Clio escaped the impact unscathed, but were left traumatized.
Traffic on line C1 was blocked while gendarmes and Grenoble police officers who had arrived as reinforcements to help regulate traffic conducted their findings.
Traffic jams and many obstacles on the road
Major traffic jams have occurred on both sides of the A41 and this busy intersection.
Disruptions are still ongoing.
