His back pain was a sign of cancer

21-year-old Gerald Green was suffering from back pain. At first, he attributes this pain to his bed and thinks it’s just “Need a new bed“, The Sun reports. But the Scotsman quickly starts vomiting and then spits up blood. Worried, his mother finds him and takes him to hospital.

Doctors diagnosed him with anemia and he quickly underwent surgery to remove his kidney. During the process, he stops breathing. The doctors then forced him to go into an artificial coma. Several tests revealed that he was suffering from an aggressive form of cancer, so he was quickly transferred to another hospital. He died there a few hours later. “It was so fast it’s hard to realize he’s actually gone. We are all in shock“, his parents remember.

“It’s incredibly sad.”

When my Aunt Paula realized that Gerald was hiding the fact that he was coughing up blood, she immediately took him to the hospital. He was obviously scared and that’s why he hid this symptom, which is why we urge anyone with similar signs to get checked out immediately before it’s too late.“, insists the young man’s cousin.

Today, his parents are urging the youth to take any symptoms seriously and consult a doctor if in doubt. To plan his funeral, his family started an online fundraiser.
