Heading for disrupted traffic during the winter holidays?
Tension is being seen at railway traffic stations. There is a risk of serious impact on the departure schedule from February 15, evening to February 19. The strike notice issued by the Sud-Rail Union for this period is still in force.
As a reminder, the national collective ASCT convinced the Sud-Rail union to file a strike notice on January 28. The latter, which runs from 8pm on Thursday 15 February to 8am on Monday 19 February, is still in place after the failure of a conciliation meeting held on Tuesday 30 January between Southern Rail’s management and representatives. This is what the union said in substance in a message in the form of a pamphlet distributed on its site.
The upheaval therefore seriously affects departures from SNCF during this period, which also includes school holiday weekends for much of the country, particularly for the academies of Montpellier and Toulouse. Overall, this strike movement, if it is to be maintained, risks disrupting vacation departures throughout Zone A, which includes Poitiers, Bordeaux, Limoges, Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon, Grenoble, Dijon, Bezanne and the central Academies. A holiday weekend in Zone C, which brings together the academies of Versailles, Paris, Creteil, Toulouse and Montpellier, from which our colleagues detail the world.
While apprehension prevails among vacationers who have planned to take the train and other train users, uncertainty remains as to whether the program of services normally provided will continue in its current form.
The end of the year 2022 is still in the memory
Users will always remember the strike that coincided with the 2022 end-of-year holidays, which saw the cancellation of several TGVs, affecting around 200,000 passengers. This time again, a lot of cancellations on the departure grid cannot be ruled out, especially after the SUD-Rail compromise meeting seems to be more upset with the management.
“Management lights the fuse!” », “The message is clear, a tsunami of D2i must wipe out the CPST”, relays the collective on its latest leaflet recalling the strike notice. Should we point out that a train without a controller cannot take off? The conflict is not new. The collective has been demanding, for several months, that the commitments made in 2022 be respected, especially with regard to the conditions at the end of his career and the revaluation of his monthly work bonus of 500 euros.
SNCF discusses ongoing discussions
Note, finally, that individual declarations of intention to join the strike movement, collected by BFM, A follow-up presage which “Can rapidly increase to 80%”. SNCF, contacted by the same media, argues that “Discussions with Trade Union Organisations”. “Furthermore, in general, a group-wide social agenda has been sent to the Union institutions and will make it possible to proceed with the dialogue on various topics, including hardships, in consideration. It is too early to say more at this stage.”The spokesperson suggests.
