After a few months of indecision via interviews, we now know when the Freebox V9 will be revealed. Free apparently missed its usual target for the month of December, but only just, as the new box will be unveiled this January 2024.

“Something like never seen before”

Make an appointment with us for free January 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM onwards for the conference. Friendroid Got an invite from Frei for a promising event This is unheard of and it is happening for free

Since the operator is in a period of communication and teasing around his new box, and is not used to organizing conferences for small announcements, the logical conclusion is the presentation of Freebox V9.

We still know very little about this new box, other than that it should integrate Wi-Fi 7. The operator has actually relayed the communication around the release of this new generation of Wi-Fi. Besides, we don’t know the name of this new box.

After Freebox HD, Freebox Revolution, Freebox Delta and Freebox Pop (don’t forget Freebox One, Freebox Mini or Freebox Crystal), we really don’t know what name an operator can come up with for its box.

The stakes around this presentation are high. The previous high-end Freebox, Freebox Delta, clearly did not have the success that Free had hoped for. Many people want to return to a simple fiber connection at a more affordable price. A path that does not want to take free, is always eager to increase the average revenue per customer, thanks to options such as TV packages or offers in partnership with Netflix or Amazon.

Always involved with the latest technological trends, we can imagine offering something free in the field of Generative AI. In November, Xavier Neal announced his initiative to develop a product competing with OpenAI GPT (ChatGPT) or Google Gemini (Google Bard, Samsung Galaxy AI).
