Experience the excitement with Alpha Protocol after 14 years of waiting!

The famous game Alpha Protocol has been re-released on GOG. Sega halted sales of all versions of Obsidian’s spy RPG in 2018–2019 due to expired music and publishing rights. The GOG version of Alpha Protocol comes with full support for modern controllers, achievements, and cloud saves, among other new features.

The alpha protocol has been re-released on GOG, with the latest version sporting some new features like achievements and support for cloud saves. One of the most acclaimed spy games of all time is finally available for purchase again after nearly five years of uncertainty. Obsidian Entertainment’s spy RPG was originally released in 2010 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Despite receiving mixed reviews due to its patchy gameplay and bugs, it eventually achieved cult status, mostly due to its unique premise coupled with a choice-driven narrative. RPG elements and a setting inspired by some of the most famous spy franchises in existence.

Alpha Protocol, removed from the Xbox Games Store and Steam in April 2018 and June 2019 respectively, has been available for purchase again since March 20, thanks to CD Projekt’s GOG. While this re-release isn’t the complete remaster of Alpha Protocol that some fans were hoping for, it still offers several new features aimed at making the game more in line with modern sensibilities.

Indeed, support for achievements and cloud saves, extended localization and full support for modern controllers are among the new features of this version. Alpha Protocol will cost $19.99, but fans can get a 10% introductory discount from March 20 to April 3.

This opportunity to revisit the Alpha Protocol comes two months before its 15th anniversary. While some fans may see this as a way for Sega to test public interest in a sequel, it’s more plausible that this re-release is another installment in GOG’s tireless effort to keep classic games inaccessible to PC gamers for longer.

Alpha Protocol developed by Obsidian Entertainment is a 2010 action RPG inspired by the Jason Bourne and James Bond films, among other spy franchises. Released on June 1, 2010, the game is now available on GOG with many updates and extensive content to delight fans of spy games.
