EDF: National call for strike this Tuesday for better wages
EDF workers have been called on strike on Tuesday.
Unions are demanding negotiations on wages.
They guarantee that this will not cause power cuts.

When questioned by AFP, management also assured that customers would not suffer the cuts: “If the RTE (manager of high voltage lines) realizes that there may be an imbalance in terms of supply and demand, he can ask for the reactor load to be increased and the staff is required to do so.”
Shut down the power plant?
“Anger at management’s position on pay measures is very present”, underlines CGT for its part, while individual measures have so far been announced for an increase of +1.5%. CFE-CGC wants 4%, CGT 2.3%.
The Croiss nuclear power plant (Ardeche), one of the reactors under maintenance was scheduled to restart this week, has been on strike since late December. Others may follow on Tuesdays, like Bugey, in Ain.
