Agen’s nutritionist Melvina Poisson reveals the benefits of soup
Fiber and mineral intake, better hydration, improved metabolism… According to nutritionist Melvina Poisson, soup is a dish to eat without moderation to improve your health.
“Eat the soup, it will make you taller.” Hey, you don’t need to fall into a pot of soup like an obelisk to gain a few centimeters in a meal space… even if it brings many benefits to the human body.
In soups, even if the quantity of vegetables used is not the same between several recipes, the benefits are the same. Minerals, fibers, vitamins and water content remain high, water allows better hydration and spices, if present, will be able to boost metabolism. “Vegetables to favor are those that make us happy. We can also work with spices, especially cinnamon which has an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial side,” explains Melvina Poisson, nutritionist at Agen. Something to please both parents and little ones who don’t like vegetables in their soup.
Detox Soup
“Soups in winter allow for a kind of metabolism detox after the holidays,” adds the nutritionist. Although it is always welcome to prepare soup after the good dishes of Christmas and New Year, be careful not to fall into certain traps. This is the case for stock cubes (for example for poultry or vegetables), real processed products that already contain a lot of salt and which can promote water retention.
Melvina Poisson still wants to remember that soup is above all a little personal pleasure. “We shouldn’t overeat the soup, but we can eat as much as we want,” she explains, recalling its cocooning effect. A blanket, a fireplace, a movie and a good bowl of soup.. a view that guarantees and makes your mouth water!
