Lebanon: New Attacks by Israeli Army Against Hezbollah Terrorist Infrastructure, Including Airstrip
The IDF struck a range of Hezbollah targets, including an airstrip used by the terrorist organization as well as military buildings and sites used by its air units. The destroyed runway may have belonged to the “airport” mentioned by Israel’s defense minister before the war.
In his speech at the annual conference of the Counter-Terrorism Policy Institute in September 2023, Yoav Galant showed photos of what was in fact an “airport built by Iran for terrorist purposes” just 20 kilometers from the Israeli border. “You can see in the photo that the Iranian flag is flying above the flight lines from where the Ayatollah regime plans to operate against Israeli citizens. In other words: the land is Lebanese, the control is Iranian, the target is Israel,” Gallant said.
