The casino group announced on Wednesday 24 January the sale of 288 stores to Auchan and Intermarché. This represents “Almost the entire scope of hypermarkets and supermarkets”, suggests the casino in a press release. The stores and their attached service stations are worth about 1.35 billion euros, according to Casino.
According to the casino group, the sale will take place in the second quarter of 2024. They will occur in three successive waves: on April 30, 2024, May 31, 2024, and July 1, 2024.
Les Mousquetaires (Intermarché) group and Auchan are committed “Resume all employment contracts of employees assigned to transferred stores and service stations” and for “In respect of employees assigned to stores, maintain provisions and consequent benefits Casino collective status for a period of 15 months from the date of completion of transfer“, it is indicated.
