Just before the release of “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” on PS5, PlayStation refunded copies of the remastered version of the PS4 masterpiece! But, what happened?
While everyone is pulling the trigger on Palworld (the famous “Pokémon with a gun”), we shouldn’t forget another release on January 19, 2024: The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Since Friday, the PS4 monument is the subject of a “Plus Plus” version on the PS5 which also has some arguments to please… In our judgment – 19/20, the same rating as the game’s basic -, we appreciate the excellent rogue-lite mode “sans retort ”, a behind-the-scenes effort (audio commentary, three full levels that return here) as well as a graphics boost in 4K native! In other words, a remaster that doesn’t mock us – available in full for €49.99 or just €10 for those who already own The Last of Us Part 2 on PS4, digitally or physically.

A good plan is not known
But, not everyone was aware of this latest good plan. According to the report GamesRadar, some fans pre-ordered The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PS5 at full price – even though they already own the title on PlayStation 4 (and can therefore benefit from a €10 upgrade)! And the 40€ error hurts. But, in a gesture of “good will”, Sony compensated players who made this mistake. Some people have actually received the following words on their consoles:
PlayStation is offering a refund for users who own the PS4 version of The Last of Us Part 2 but already have The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered which is $50 instead of getting a $10 upgrade!

As owners of the PS4 digital version of The Last of Us Part 2, the upgrade to the PS5 digital version will be available at a heavily discounted price on launch day (…) We don’t want you to miss out on this event so – as a gesture of goodwill – we’re offering The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Your purchase has been refunded for the pre-order of the PSS version.
A little further, Sony specifies that the refund in question may take “up to 60 days” and will appear on the original payment method (for example, the card you made the purchase with). We imagine the players concerned were relieved to see this message… If you’re interested in the €10 update, just insert the disc version of The Last of Us Part 2 or go to the “Library” space on your PS5! Then a window will appear with the upgrade.
