Angola beat Mauritania to qualify for the 1/8th
It is a great meeting that Mauritania and Angola offered us, perhaps the best since the start of this CAN. Both teams were on the attack from the first moments. Angolan number 10 Gelson Dala scores the first goal of the game with an acrobatic move at the far post (1-0, 30th). Mauritania responded quickly before half-time thanks to a superb goal from Sidi Amar. The player has fun with the shot before landing a powerful shot (1-1, 43rd). Gelson Dala gets his team back on track (2-1, 50th), before Gilberto heads home the points minutes later (3-1, 54th). Except the Mauritanians continued to trouble the opposition defence.
Aboubakar Koita sends a missile from distance that completely revives his team (3-2, 58th). The Mauritanians pressed and often fell against a very good Neblu. In vain, the score remains there (3-2). With this win, Angola leads their group. But most of all, the “Gazelle Noirs” secure their ticket to the 1/8 finals of the competition. This second defeat for the Mauritanians leaves them in last place. With their match tonight, the team can keep hope alive. His attacking abilities could give him confidence ahead of the final group match against Algeria next week.
