Social leasing has finally been launched. This is a state-subsidized program to allow thousands of French people to drive new electric cars for €100 per month. However, there are more accessible or more expensive offerings for a more versatile model. It is conditioned by several factors:
- Be of legal age and have proof of residence in France
- Have a household with a reference tax income per unit of less than €15,400
- Live more than 15 km from your workplace and use your personal car to get there
- Travel more than 8,000 km per year by car as part of your professional activity
What electric cars are available through Social Leasing?
Here are the available models along with their prices and contract durations. Most of the time, manufacturers negotiate the rental price of the entry-level version of their vehicle, but it is often possible to choose a better-equipped model with a higher price. Unlike traditional long term rental (LLD) offers, the first rent is not increased. By default, social leasing does not include insurance or vehicle maintenance.
To be eligible, models must meet the same criteria for the new ecological bonus, including an environmental score that excludes most cars manufactured outside Europe.
