It’s not even a year old yet, and yet the Minecraft Legends game will no longer be entitled to new content.

Barely nine months after its launch, the game Minecraft Legends, Mojang’s spin-off of the legendary title, sees its development end by welcoming the deployment of the very latest content. Released in May last year, the title was first announced around vague communications about its content but promised a breath of fresh air in the license: “A piglin invasion has begun and threatens to corrupt the overworld. It’s up to you to forge valuable alliances and make unexpected friends (…) to lead strategic battles against the invaders of the Nether.”, we read in a press release. In addition to Minecraft’s iconic construction stages, players then had to fend off an onslaught of enemies.

On Metacritic, the game inherited a fairly decent average of 71. If IGN France wrote that “Minecraft Legends is an RTS that will not leave you indifferent with a generous and addictive offer.“, Game Informer said “Minecraft Legends strives to combine open-world adventure with the complexities of real-time strategy, a battle that can sometimes detract from the quality of the game.“. Eurogamer for its part believes that the game “Too basic for older players and too frustrating for everyone else. “
