The December 25, 2023 Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V source code leak stunned the gaming community again, as it was the fourth leak from Rockstar Games in recent times. Although it wasn’t as damaging as the previous three Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, the developer obviously suffered, as their most popular project became unofficially open source.

The data mining community revealed many images and details through the leak, which was soon removed by the gaming studio.

With that said, this article lists the five biggest details found in the GTA V source code leak.

5 shocking details revealed by December 2023 GTA V source code leak

1) Eight story mode DLCs

Undoubtedly the most shocking revelation from the GTA V source code leaks, the community learned that Rockstar Games planned and later canceled eight DLCs for Grand Theft Auto V story mode. A single-player expansion for the 2013 title has been in high demand. While the gaming studio remained silent on the matter for years, data miners presented themselves as whistle-blowers for Rockstar.

The eight DLC names found in the source code leak are as follows:

• SP killing pack
• SP Manhunt Pack
• SP Norman Peck
• Agent Trevor
• Relationship pack
• SP Enterprise Pack
• Introductory DLC
• Liberty DLC

2) Status of bully 2

While the GTA community was upset with Rockstar Games for deleting eight story mode DLCs from the latest title, data miners also found Bully 2 in the GTA V source code. It was rumored to be a sequel to the popular 2006 title Bully. Leaks revealed that the studio had worked back and forth on the project several times.

Although it’s currently unconfirmed whether the Bully 2 project has been canceled for good, fans are furious that Rockstar Games has been kept in the shadows for years. Interestingly, data miners found six concept arts that were believed to be from the early stages of the rumored Bully 2 game.

3) Grand Theft Auto V Beta Map

The December 2023 leak also helped data miners uncover more than 40 images of the Grand Theft Auto V beta map. Although this does not harm the current game in any way, it is still an undesirable move as Rockstar Games did not intend for its tactics to be witnessed by the entire world.

The leaked images feature unfinished renderings of various GTA V locations, such as the Vinewood logo, the Vespucci Canals, Mount Chiliad, and the entire state of San Andreas. These images are believed to be part of the leaked 200 GB data.

4) Vice City Mod for Grand Theft Auto V

Data miners also claimed to have found the Vice City mod for GTA V in the leaks. The above image shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user named @lmk_nathan42915 caused some controversy before it was removed.

While some fans claimed it was a mod, others said it was a screenshot of a GTA 6 developer build. However, the image remains a mystery as Rockstar Games has yet to officially address it.

5) Grand Theft Auto 6 development

The Grand Theft Auto V source code leak includes not only information about the current game but also details about the development of Grand Theft Auto 6. This was confirmed when a September 2022 leak revealed the developer of the upcoming game to be codenamed “Project America”. December 2023 leaks.

So far, the Project America leak has revealed several characters from the upcoming title, including two new protagonists Jason and Lucia. Although GTA 6’s Florida Joker is not available in the leaks, the community is familiar with other characters such as Dre, Kai, Booby and Sam.
