Hit cinemas in France on November 27, 2019, Proxima Shining a spotlight on a reality rarely addressed in cinema: the lives of female astronauts. Here, director Alice Winokore tells the everyday life of a certain Sarah Loreau, astronaut and mother. Hired to take part in a dangerous mission, he must prepare to be separated from his 8-year-old daughter Sarah. A child is somewhat neglected by her father Thomas, from whom she is estranged… An original story, but terribly realistic, carried out by a very engaging cast.
For the purposes of her film, Elise Winokore did things on a grand scale. Here, no sets or models have been prepared specifically for the film, but mythical places: the base of the European Space Agency in Cologne, the city of Star City, a closed enclosure located very close to Moscow, but also the cosmodrome of Baikonur, from here. Where a rocket is launched towards the International Space Station! Unusual locations welcomed the hilarious actors, who had to train hard to make sure their actions matched those of the real astronauts. On screen, the illusion is complete. Matt Dillon appears as Thomas Pesquet (who was preparing his first flight during filming), while famous heroine Sarah Loreau appears larger than life as Eva Green. An actress won through this extraordinary training, because she believed in the column of Women’s Journal : “Shooting in sacred places is a luxury and associated with the conquest of space. Having actual coaches during the scenes, it was crazy. It’s a privilege to be able to explore universes that we never get to experience in real life. That’s it. This What does the job provide.”

If the actress, daughter of Marlene Joubert and Walter Green, is impressive on screen, she also leaves one of her coaches alone. Indeed, Luca Parmitano, the Italian astronaut responsible for preparing and supporting her for the film, remained speechless against the film’s star. The Three Musketeers
And no The Dreamers. A fan of Eva Green, he was kind of shy around the star, as Elise Winokore revealed in Vanity Fair: “He had been in love with her since he was a teenager. So he completely lost his temper.”The rest under this announcement
