If you’re wondering how to find grind wires in Fortnite, here’s where you can find them and how to use them in the game.

Fortnite has released another update for Chapter 5 Season 1, which has returned Lock On Pistols to the game and brought all new weekly quests.

One of these quests is titled: “Go up and up before you go up and up”, requiring you to “use ziplines, ascenders or grind wires.” After using any variation of this five times, then you will have completed the task and earned yourself 15,000 XP.

These wires have proven useful for quickly gliding over buildings, especially if you need to quickly move to another tall building around a POI. This can be during a fight when chasing an enemy, to get a better firing angle, or even to make a quick escape.

Where to find grind wire in fortnite

To find a grind wire in Fortnite, you need to head to any POI found across the island that has tall buildings, as there will be a series of grind wires between them.

We recommend you head to Hazy Hillside, Snooty Steps, Fencing Fields or Pleasant Piazza. All of these have multiple amounts of grind wire, which can be found between the various roof corners at these locations.

How to use grind wire in fortnite

To use grind wires in Fortnite, just find them on the corner of the roof, run towards them and jump over the wire when you’re close to locking and grind on the wire.

Complete this five times to complete the weekly quest and earn 15,000 XP. You can also use an unlimited amount of the same grind wire to complete quests. Alternatively, you can use Ziplines or Ascenders, which are also found around the island and near POIs.
