Elizabeth Olsen’s portrayal of the Scarlet Witch has been universally praised for bringing a certain vulnerability and emotion to an extremely powerful character. In the last two The Avengers movies, Wandavision And Doctor Strange 2, the MCU showed the complex nature of the character, and her evolution is arguably one of the best in the universe.
This character has also been included in some of the stories What if…? Animated series on Disney+. The new season of the show surprisingly introduced new powers to the character that fans haven’t seen before in the MCU.

What if…? Season 2 features Scarlet Witch’s new god-level powers
Scarlet Witch is an extremely influential character in comics. The live-action version of the character, played by Elizabeth Olsen, brought some level of relatability and vulnerability to the character while keeping her core strengths intact. in What if..? The makers of the series have used the charismatic nature of the character in their grand storytelling.
In the show’s second season, the character is seen involved in several notable episodes involving the Avengers. She displayed some new powers that gave her a new edge and ferocity that audiences haven’t seen in the MCU. Here are three new powers that the show’s creators introduced in Season 2.

1. Scarlet Witch has the ability to open multiversal portals
In the new season of What if…? Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter has a huge role and is the overarching character in most of the episodes. In episode 8 it is revealed that the Scarlet Witch opened a portal and brought Carter to help stop the intrusion into The Renaissance-Era.
This character has never had this level of power before and when America Chavez had this power Doctor Strange 2, this upgrade of Wanda brings a whole new dynamic to the character. It will be interesting if this is somehow implemented in live-action in the future.
2. Scarlet Witch holds Thor and Invasion at the same time
In episode 8 of What if…? Season 2. The Scarlet Witch is seen serving a Renaissance-era version of King Thor. Blaming Captain Carter for Hela’s murder, Thor sends Happy Hogan and the Yellowjackets to destroy them as well. In the climax of the episode, the gang formed by Carter work together to find the precursor to the invasion.
Scarlet Witch joins Carter and defends him from Thor. The character is also seen fending off an invasion at the same time and seeing such a level of power upgrade from the character is incredible. Stopping such powerful forces is a herculean task and Wanda manages to pull it off and save the universe from a dangerous invasion.

3. The Scarlet Witch has the ability to revive the dead
In the final of What if…? Season 2
, Captain Carter and Doctor Strange go on a quest to find an escaped universe killer. In the later parts of the episode, it is revealed that the ‘evil’ Doctor Strange is capturing heroes and villains from different universes, in order to restore his own universe.When Captain Carter releases the captured variants of the various individuals captured by Strange, she and Kahori encounter a zombie version of the Scarlet Witch who can summon the bodies/souls of dead creatures and obey her commands. The character has other impressive new abilities that could be very exciting to see in live-action.
