Since the release of Apple’s first iPhone in 2007, Apple has confirmed its ruthless dominance over the years when the annual ranking of the ten best-selling smartphones of the year is released. 2023 is no exception to the rule, with the top 10 major innovations unveiled by the Canalys firm and presented by Clubic compared to previous years.
For the first time, a model from Apple’s Pro range tops the ranking. Looking at the list of the most popular smartphones last year, we see that the most recent and therefore the most expensive models are on the rise. This confirms the strong trend of more and more consumers moving towards high-end smartphones.
With 34 million copies sold worldwide, the iPhone 14 Pro has been available since the fall, so it tops and falls short of its big brother, the iPhone 15 Pro, which is released a few months later. First (33 million smartphones sold). The choice of titanium made by the Apple brand to lighten its phones seems to have been confirmed. The Cupertino company can rub its hands with the podium and the entire Apple Top 5: the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro follow with 29 million deliveries for each phone. iPhone 13 (23 million sold) is in fifth place.
To find a non-Apple smartphone in the ranking, you have to go down to sixth place. Samsung Galaxy A14 4G has sold 21 million copies. This is better than its 5G version which ranks eighth than the Galaxy A54 5G. The iPhone 15 brings up the rear with 17 million phones sold last year.
