Donald Trump
IOWA.- Former President Donald Trump emphasized his proposal to carry out “the largest deportation operation in history” if he returns to the presidency of the United States.
“As soon as I am sworn in, I will end the Biden administration’s open borders policy and begin the largest deportation operation in American history,” Trump said Monday ahead of this year’s caucuses at a rally in Iowa on Sunday.
This is not the first time that the former president has promised a massive deportation operation. A month ago, Trump promised exactly the same thing, if elected, on his first day as president.
“On my first day in the White House I am ending all open border policies of the Biden administration. “I’m going to stop the invasion of the southern border and launch the largest and largest deportation operation in the country,” the New York dignitary said during a rally in New Hampshire.
Likewise, a few weeks ago he promised to call in troops overseas, to control “the bulk” of law enforcement.
Stephen Miller, a former immigration policy adviser to Republicans, a potential member of the second Biden administration, citing a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, added the comment: “Deportations will begin at noon on Inauguration Day.”
Trump is stepping up his anti-immigrant rhetoric as his message appears to be reaching Republican voters.
A recent CBS News/YouGov poll found Sunday that 81% of Republican voters said they agreed with the former president’s controversial comment that immigrants are “poisoning the blood” of the nation. Only 19% people disagreed with the statement.
Likewise, such statements could further mobilize MAGA voters, as the former president’s most radical followers are known. 97% said they agreed with statements such as immigrants “poisoning the blood” of the nation.
If we consider the general electorate, the picture is different. In that case, 47% said they agreed, while 53% disagreed.
