This new feature gives your smartphone a cleaner interface
Samsung now allows, thanks to the customization app, to remove the gesture navigation bar at the bottom of the screen for a cleaner interface.
Since 2019, smartphone manufacturers have gradually adopted navigation through gestures in their devices instead of the traditional navigation through buttons that we got till then. For users, the benefit is valuable, as the navigation keys take up valuable space on the display.
With gesture navigation, manufacturers have drastically reduced the size occupied by interface elements… without removing them. Now, most manufacturers display a navigation bar at the bottom of the screen that the user must interact with to return to the home screen or switch from one app to another. This is especially the case for Samsung but, as reported by our colleagues 01 netThe Korean manufacturer now offers an option to further simplify the user interface of its smartphones.
Personalization is accessible in the Good Lock app
Indeed, journalist Mishal Rahman discovered that Samsung’s Good Lock app – which allows you to deeply personalize the One UI software – now offers a new option thanks to the Navstar app. Unchecking this option will completely and simply hide the central navigation bar displayed at the bottom of the screen on the Galaxy S24. gesture indicator ” It must be said that this function originally offered on previous Samsung smartphones was kept aside for the new models.
The option is already available in the NavStar app for version One UI 6.1 on the Samsung Galaxy S24. However, it remains to be seen if it will only be present as an experiment or if the Korean manufacturer intends to deploy it more widely.
As a reminder, the Good Lock app primarily serves as an experimentation center for Samsung, as other manufacturers offer features in the beta phase. Integrating this customization option directly into One UI settings will allow users to take advantage of it more comprehensively and more easily.
