This fish will be especially good for your health, it will lower your cholesterol level

In carpaccio, tartare, foil or pan-fried, salmon is one of the most used fish. And good news for fans, this fish is considered the best for health. Over the years, studies have shown that consumers of this fish have a greater chance of staying disease-free.

Scientists from the University of Colorado, whose comments were broadcast by the Daily Mail, wanted to find out the reasons for such a phenomenon and finally identified at least four compounds present in this fish, which, according to them, can reduce bad cholesterol. This substance accumulates in the blood vessels and damages them, significantly increasing the risk of stroke and heart attack.

Specifically, their study, the results of which were published in the Journal of Nutrition, showed that by eating salmon, consumers ingest at least 30 substances produced during metabolism, digestion or other chemical processes. And in total, four of these metabolites are associated with significant improvements in cardiovascular health.

Two servings of salmon per week

To reach this conclusion, the researchers analyzed data from 41 participants between the ages of 30 and 69. They ordered them to follow a Mediterranean diet including fish, lean meats, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. They then assessed the health of his cardiovascular system by analyzing his blood and performing several tests. Specifically, the diet consists of two servings of salmon per week for two periods of five weeks, with a month break in between.
