(CNN) — Police in Pennsylvania are investigating a gruesome murder after a man posted a video on social media that showed what he said was his father’s severed head, and spoke about the Biden administration and the border crisis, while introducing himself as the new executive. The video circulated on YouTube for hours (it received over 5,000 views) before being removed. Justin Mohan, 32, was charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and other charges, according to court documents.

The horrific case comes amid a tense national political climate and comes under fire as social media executives — who will be questioned by Congress on Wednesday — allow videos with disturbing and sometimes violent content to be posted and remain on their sites.

Police launched an investigation Tuesday after a man in his 60s was found decapitated and covered in blood, WPVI reports.

In a video on social media, a man identified as Mohan apparently reads a written statement. At one point, he held a bloody head inside a clear plastic bag. He says his father, who was a federal employee for more than twenty years, was a traitor to his country.

“The federal government of the United States has declared war on its citizens and the American states. America is rotting from the inside while the far left’s woke hordes lay waste to our once prosperous cities,” he said.

Middletown Township Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla told CNN that police have identified the suspect as the victim’s son. The suspect fled in a vehicle more than 100 miles to Fort Indiantown Gap, where he was arrested near a National Guard training base by civilian police assisted by Pennsylvania State Police. Police told CNN that the vehicle had been recovered.

“YouTube has strict policies prohibiting graphic violence and violent extremism,” the company told CNN in a statement. “The video was removed for violating our graphic violence policy and Justin Mohan’s channel was terminated in accordance with our violent extremism policies. Our teams are closely monitoring to remove any repetition of the video.”

It is unclear whether Mohan already has a lawyer; CNN has reached out to the Bucks County public defender for comment. He was arraigned via video early Wednesday morning, according to WPVI. A judge ordered him held without bail, court records show; His next hearing is scheduled for February 8.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office will hold a news conference Wednesday, Bartorilla said.

“I think the neighborhood may have calmed down because I think they were a little bit upset for a while, before they knew where the person of interest was,” he told WPVI overnight.
