The state will receive stimulus checks of up to $1,312

Alaska residents may receive checks of up to $1,312.00 USD as part of an annual program to improve the well-being of that community.

This is the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) based on oil and livestock assets, which will send checks to residents in October 2024.

So for checks corresponding to 2023, applications will be accepted till March 31. Meanwhile, eligible residents who missed the 2023 payment will see their payment on February 15.

Additionally, March 13 is the deadline to demonstrate eligibility and ensure that the last Alaskans receive their checks.

In this sense, the governor of Alaska, Mike Dunleavy, indicated that a possible increase in these payments for 2024 is being considered. Proposals are around $3000.00 USD per person, although the 2023 payment is set at $1312.00 USD.

Let us remember that there are other programs in the country that distribute cash and provide financial assistance to different communities.

Examples of this are the states of Michigan and Colorado, where specific needs are addressed and economic well-being is promoted.

Who cannot receive this payment?

Alaska’s system excludes certain people from paying a $1,312.00 USD check. We are talking about criminals and individuals who have spent a lot of time outside the state.

It is pertinent to point out here that this program has a mission to financially support the residents of Alaska.

But let’s be clear that the term “legal residence” generally refers to permanent resident status. In addition, obtaining legal residence in the United States also means acquiring various rights and responsibilities.

For example, with it you have the right to live in the country permanently and work legally. It also means social benefits, public education and travel within and outside the national territory.

Finally, after a certain amount of time of being a legal resident, you can apply for US citizenship.
