He succeeded in canceling the auction. Jean Michel Beaudoin will keep Its malouinière On the banks of Rennes in Saint-Malo (Île-et-Villain).
“It was so disconnected from reality,” he says.
On Wednesday September 20, 2023, the beautiful residence with its 7 hectares of land and 2000 m2 of buildings, was sold at auction for 1.1 million, while it was estimated by real estate agents at around 7 million euros.
At the time, Jean-Michel Beaudoin contested the sale and also wanted to file a complaint against X for “fraud of judgment”. » His bank had been demanding €750,000 from him for several years.
We believe we are not owed this amount, but we had no choice but to pay.
Too late, the auction begins. The court did not know that the compensation had been paid. “It happened in a matter of minutes,” his lawyer explained at the time. “We felt cheated. It was not a physical question. It is a special place with a real power of attraction,” underlines Jean-Michel Beaudoin.
The press quickly reported his story. “The cheap media coverage naturally attracted those who smelled a good deal,” explains Jean-Michel Beaudoin. Article from Country Malouin was included in Time and in Figaro Real Estate.
The auction was subject to a bidding clause within ten days of the sale.
Three people showed their interest by proposing an offer of more than 10% of the 1.1 million euros. “The first sale was later canceled and a new auction was scheduled for La Hobarderie on January 24, 2024.”
Except that in the meantime the owner’s lawyer claimed that there was an “accident of process as the amount claimed by the bank was paid”. So the January new sale has been cancelled.
Jean-Michel Beaudoin keeps his Malouinier and takes a step back from this story. “Disputes often occur between banks and their customers,” says another person who lives in Switzerland and does not live in this Malounier, but where he likes to spend time.
We ‘survived’ because our interests are not in France. I tell myself that the poor farmer or laborer will not be so lucky. Many people came to me to share their problems.
The fact is that the dispute with the bank has not been resolved. “We are going to get compensation,” says Jean-Michel Beaudoin. It is the Nantes Court of Appeal that should examine the case. The date is not yet known. “We’ll go all the way,” he declares.
