Liga de Quito has completed its search and already has a new coach.
On Monday, January 8, it was confirmed that the new coach of League of Quito And Luis Zubeldia will be replaced Josep Alcacer. The Spaniard arrives in Ecuador with a shoot in the lower divisions of Spain. The club chose this profile over other candidates to take the bench.
The press reported that the 44-year-old Spaniard will be the next coach of the Quito league. Mr. OFFSIDER confirms that the contract between Liga de Quito and Josep Alcácer is complete. The Spanish coach was without a team in 2024.
The Spaniard coached Granada in Spain in 2022 as Aitor Karanka’s technical assistant. His last experience as a coach was with Alcorcon B in Spain’s second division.
In his career, he has been an assistant coach at teams such as Elche, Getafe, Sporting Gijon and Villarreal. The decision of a new direction for the Quito League has created considerable uncertainty among its fans, as 2024 is projected as a very important year for the ‘Albo’ team.
LigaPro and 2023 Copa Sudamerica champions Luis Zubeldia left the club following the departure of Esteban Paz from the squad. Currently club presidents Isaac Alvarez and Adrian Gabari make sporting decisions.
