Today is the second day of the first week of the prestigious LCK Spring Split 2024. The opening match saw Dplus KIA and OKSavingsBank BRION face off, each playing their first match of the season. The encounter, played in Bo3, turned out to be a real spectacle. Dplus KIA, under the guidance of their coach Zefa, dominated the match, winning with a score of 2-0. The victory not only marks a winning start for Dplus KIA in this Spring Split, but also allows them to temporarily take first place in the standings. The team will now prepare for their next challenge, the much-anticipated match against KT Rolster, scheduled for Sunday, January 21, in what is expected to be an exciting encounter.
A highlight of the encounter was a spectacular pentakill by Aiming, the Dplus KIA botlaner on champion Zayah. The feat, the first pentakill of the 2024 season in the LCK and the third of the player’s career, occurred during the first round of the match. A decisive team fight broke out in the midlane before the half-hour mark, a highlight where Deplus KIA, thanks to their advantage in gold and the possession of Soul gained a short while ago, were easily able to gain the upper hand. BRION players failed to respond effectively, falling one after the other without eliminating their opponents. Finished this first part brilliantly with a total KDA of 9/0/5, and an impressive total KDA of 15/1/8 across BO3. The target also leaves with 2 “players of the game”, thus temporarily taking first place.
It is interesting to note that this is the second pentacle in the major leagues since the start of the 2024 season, the first being in the LEC by MAD Lions’ botlaner Supa during a match against Karmine Corp.
