The Last of Us Part 2 was immediately remade by angry ‘fans’

So much more than a new coat of paint. While these new bells and whistles add to the intensity and immersion of the core game, making it the definitive way to experience this phase of Ellie’s story, it’s far from the only way this version shines. I wish this was the only side of the story.

Unfortunately, the review bombardment is back. You probably remember that Part II It was the target of a wave of hate upon its release, particularly due to the backlash against Abby’s character. Personally, I love Abby but I understand those who don’t. However, there is a stark contrast between disliking a character and giving a game a score of zero or one because events didn’t turn out the way you wanted them to.

I miss the times when people cared about the game(s) they were making. Hmm, I can think of a few moments that were far from predictable.

Someone recommended that you “(buy) the cheaper PS3 version”. Uh, I played the wrong game, dude. “This game will never get any real respect,” commented one reviewer. “It’s just as bad as when it started in 2020. Just poorly written characters and a pointless story,” adds another.

You got the idea. Almost all of these low-scoring reviews take aim at the story itself, and what makes this re-release unique, like No Return and Lost Levels. As much as I hate to admit it, I don’t think any of us are surprised. I would have been shocked if this speech hadn’t come up again. Overall, the user score sits at a very strong 8.2, with 18% assigned as negative.
