In a recent publication on social networks, some official accounts linked to the Israeli state have shared a video excerpt to demonstrate humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The video was specifically posted on the country’s official account, the account of the Israeli embassy in the United States, or its account. The footage showing the tents was not filmed in Palestine or Israel. They date from 2022, and show a Ukrainian refugee camp in the Eastern European country of Moldova.
Seen by a BBC journalist Shayan Sardarizadeh, reverse image search allows you to find its source. Traces of this video can be found in online image banks, such as Getty Images or IStock.
It’s titled: “Refugee camp with many shelters and places to stay, refugees from Ukraine”, and was published on March 21, 2022. A geographical indication indicates that it was filmed in Moldova.
