So there, folks, we have some heavy stuff The Last of Us Part II Remastered. It’s already on top of Metacritic as the best game of 2024, and it’s not even released yet.
It’s a bit like Marmite, this game. You either love it or you hate it. In our review of the remastered PlayStation exclusive, we gave it a lot of praise, not to mention not bad at all.
It seems that many media outlets share this opinion, as positive reviews of the game have placed it at the top of Metacritic, making it the most reviewed game of the year so far.
Of course, it’s only January and there are plenty of other games coming up that could dethrone The Last of Us Part II RemasteredBut personally, I’m betting on a remake Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Nevertheless, it is a great achievement and well deserved.
Now, would sports fans agree? That’s another question, and we’ll see what everyone thinks when the game releases on January 19.
While it’s the same single-player story that fans loved or hated on PlayStation 4, the remastered version brings some notable differences and bonus features. Being exclusive to the PlayStation 5 makes it look a little better. It includes a few missing levels from the original version, a roguelike mode called No Return, new customization options and of course all the features of the DualSense controller on PS5.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered Can be bought outright, or if you have a copy of the PS4 version you can upgrade for $10/£10.
In short, we are very excited for this release and we will see if it lives up to all its promises. Stay tuned for our full verdict!
