Competition will resume in the LEC for the remainder of the second week of the Winter Split. The day starts with a victory for Team BDS, who managed to win against MAD Lions KOI. Adam and his team confirmed their current good form with a fourth win, keeping them top of the standings.
Team BDS continues its momentum
Welcome to day two of competition in the heart of the LEC Winter Split 2024, where tensions rise as we head into this second weekend. Today we witness an exciting matchup between two teams with clear ambitions: MAD Lions and Team BDS. The match promises to be an intense encounter between MAD Lions’ ambition to reclaim their glory and Team BDS’s determination to maintain their leadership position.
MAD Lions, currently in 5th place in the regular season standings, share their position with Fnatic and GiantX, with two wins in four matches. His recent career has been somewhat shaky, marked by a loss to the formidable G2 Esports the day before. So this match is crucial for Aloya and his teammates to bounce back and stay in the race for the top spots. On the other hand, we have Team BDS, which has moved up to the number one spot in the rankings by teaming up with SK Gaming, G2 Esports and Team Heretics. With three wins from four matches, Adam and his gang are showing impressive form, powered by a three-match winning streak.
Team BDS moves closer to the playoffs
This first part of the day begins intensely. Both teams prefer a slightly aggressive approach early in the game, resulting in a slight advantage for the BDS team. They manage to get the first kill and take the lead in terms of gold at the 10 minute mark. For their part, MAD tries to counterbalance by grabbing the first dragon and putting variable pressure on the lane. They manage to destroy the first two towers after 15 minutes of play, though their efforts have had mixed success.
After 20 minutes of play, Team BDS starts gaining momentum. At this point, the MAD Lions take a risky gamble by trying to capture Nashor, but their strategy fails miserably. Not only do they lose the objective, but they also suffer multiple losses in terms of kills. Although BDS tries to take advantage of the Baron buff to increase pressure and reach the Spanish base, they make a mistake during a botlane team fight and lose some of their advantage. However, they maintain a comfortable lead of 7k gold. At minute thirty a new team fight begins, this time well controlled by BDS, who wins several kills and souls. Adam and his team dominate and destroy everything in their path. MAD Lions are trying to turn the situation around, but they are far behind in terms of resources and level. In the end, they have to admit defeat.
With a remarkable performance from Labrov playing the blitz, Team BDS secured their fourth victory in the LEC Winter Split, one step closer to qualifying for the next stage of the competition. On the other hand, MAD Lions KOI seemed to struggle in this match, making questionable decisions and revealing major communication issues.
