Science says that women who eat at this age live the longest

The power of food on our health should not be underestimated. Eating well will indeed make it possible to live longer, as many scientific studies suggest. One of them, conducted by researchers at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center at Tufts University, and T.American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, emphasizing the benefits of protein-rich foods. Consuming protein, especially plant-based protein regularly, will actually help prevent chronic diseases to enable healthy aging.

According to the report woman, to reach this conclusion, researchers collected and analyzed data from more than 48,000 women who participated in the Harvard-based Nurses’ Health Study. The aim was to analyze participants’ dietary questionnaires to determine how much protein they consumed and then compare these results to their overall health.

Plant Protein, Companion to Health and Longevity?

It was found that participants who included the most plant protein in their diet were also less likely to develop heart disease, cancer and diabetes, or to have decreased cognitive and mental health. Women who consumed more than their 40s were 46% more likely to have good health in old age. “Getting most of your protein from plant sources in midlife, along with a small amount of animal protein, appears to be conducive to good health and survival into old age. Women who consumed higher amounts of animal protein suffered more from chronic diseases and failed to improve physical function. We usually associate it with protein consumption.

Analysis Andreas Ardison KoratLead author of this report.

The scientific team emphasizes that the benefits of plant proteins may come from their action on bad cholesterol as well as their richness in good nutrients. Plant proteins also contain phyto-micronutrients such as fiber, vitamins, minerals and polyphenols, which are particularly important for optimal body function.
