Oscar-nominated star Saoirse Ronan could play a big part in the next James Bond movie. Irish actor Paul Maskall will also play a major role in the next Bond film.
Irish bookmakers Ladbrokes are offering 5/1 odds that Saoirse will be the next Bond girl. In the pack is former Coronation Street actor Michelle Keegan with odds of 2/1 followed by Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dinever at 3/1.
Meanwhile, punters are taking chances on Margot Robbie, the Barbie star, who remains at 7/1.
Nicola McGady of Ladbrokes said: “Rumors are swirling about who will be the new Bond girl, and patriotic punters are already showing their support for Saoirse Ronan, who is the frontrunner to land the coveted role.”
Saoirse has previously said she doesn’t do many franchise films because she doesn’t get roles, but she admits she would love to play the baddie in a Bond film.
She said: “I’d love to do Bond. What I’d really like to do is, like, I’d like to play a villain in a Bond film, or something like that.
“That would be awesome. But I’d love to do something really big.”
Despite recent talks about a female Bond, not much has been said about having a female villain.
