No, the VR hit Rec Room is not coming to PSVR 2 and the reason is quite simple: according to the developers it won’t be profitable.
Lately, Commercial Director and Co-Founder Rec room, Cameron Brown participated in a Q&A session on Reddit and invited players to ask questions about this virtual reality gaming hit. According to the report Upload VR, one of the users asked if the developers planned to port the game to PSVR 2, while explaining that the PSVR version is impossible to play because PSVR 2 does not allow backward compatibility. To which Cameron Brown responded in the negative, explaining that such a port would not be beneficial to his studio.
At this time we have no plans to port PSVR 2 (Rec Room). It is a significant port, and we have not found a way to justify it financially speaking. In an ideal world, we’d love to bring (Rec Room) to PSVR 2, but can’t justify the cost based on the numbers. It sucks I know, but it’s the truth.

Why is it true? We are not working on a port of Rec Room to PSVR 2 at this time. Shall we do it later? Certainly, if it makes sense for the business. We have worked with Sony for years and have had many successful partnerships. We always plan to expand the number of platforms available at Rack Room and increase those numbers this year.
Rec Room is a bona fide VR hit that has around 3 million monthly active users according to the studio. For the moment, the software is available on Meta Quest, Pico 4, SteamVR and the first PSVR, as well as on iOS and Android mobile in current-gen consoles and classic versions. For its part, PSVR 2 has struggled to really stand out since its debut.
