Patch 10.2.6 will be released in March 2024 and will be followed by Dragonflight Season 4 – World of Warcraft

Blizzard is maintaining secrecy around Dragonflight patch 10.2.6. In L’Article published In recent hours, we’ve learned that the studio plans to deploy the update in March, but also that test areas will be limited to avoid spoilers. Developers want players to discover new features at the same time.

On the one hand, we have so Patch 10.2.6. The release date is scheduled for March and the PTR will be particularly limited. Blizzard prefers not to reveal details too early.

On the other hand, know that patch 10.2.6 will include content from Dragonflight Season 4. It will however be encrypted, preventing the details from being leaked upstream by data mining. Blizzard, on the other hand, insists that S4’s content will be tested on PTR 10.2.6 shortly before its launch.

Obviously, all this raises questions and we wonder if the development team will be able to deliver a quality gaming experience without the help of test fields. On this topic, Blizzard is already playing its part by warning that there may be difficulties at launch but that the devs will respond.

As many have noted, this is the first time since Dragonflight’s launch that we don’t have an active PTR, and we understand that this has generated curiosity.

for Update 10.2.6 From DragonFlight, we have created what we believe to be a unique event inspired by community feedback. It is open to anyone with a World of Warcraft subscription who wishes to participate (WoW Classic or Dragonflight players). We will say no more. Sorry! Our goal is to continue keep secret. It’s up to you to try to guess! We’re looking at reactions to Discovery’s Season of Wonder and want to take a similar, yet different approach to Dragonflight.

This means there will be no No RPT (Public Test Area) For part of the next update, contrary to what we usually do. All we can say is that it will be available in March. A clarification: the update will include everything needed for Dragonflight Season 4

, but it will remain hidden. Shortly after the update launches, we’ll make 10.2.6 available on the PTR before Season 4 launches.

Why are we doing this? We like to publish content that is full of surprises and not analyzed or revealed in advance. We also love seeing the joy the community has in discovering everything together when they jump into the game. We can’t wait to see if the community enjoys these kinds of surprises, and we can’t wait to hear your feedback. This is a risky experience and can be a bit chaotic, but we are doing everything we can to make sure everything goes smoothly.

The World of Warcraft team is committed to ensuring a reliable and quality launch for this update. We are sensitive and responsive to issues and questions that arise. So I hope you will forgive us if we have some difficulties in this experiment and we will work together when we launch in March. Then you will know everything!
