Kylian Mbappe left the field in agony after suffering a nasty sole during the Coupe de France match against Brest.
Now less than a week before they host Real Sociedad in the round of 16 of the Champions League, PSG are reeling. And not just because of his recent performances. Wednesday’s setback against Brest in the Coupe de France did not allow Luis Enrique’s men to console themselves. Although they eventually won 3-1, the Parisians conceded numerous chances and appeared feverish.
Once again, PSG were able to rely on Kylian Mbappé to make the difference, with the former Monegasque finishing the match with a goal and an assist on the clock. But the French world champion also ended the match with an ankle injury. A nasty sole from Pierre Brazier midway through the second half resulted. A bad move that earned the Breton defender a red card.
“We’ll see you tomorrow.”
Staying on the ground for too long, the former Monegasque was able to get up and finish the match. When he returned to the locker room he was no less bored. According to RMC, the first tests have revealed nothing but Kylian Mbappé is due to go to the doctors this Thursday to determine the nature of the injury more precisely.
“For Kylian Mbappé, we will see tomorrow. He took a big blow in the ankle. He stayed on the field, he is fine, the doctors will see tomorrow”, Luis Enrique believed after the match. Concerns are high on the Parisian side as the French champions already have to deal with Real Sociedad without Presnel Kimpembe, Milan Skriniar and Nuno Mendes.
